Pierwszy, chyba najlepszy album Clan of Xymox, wydany tylko w 500 egzemplarzach...

W 1985 roku ukazał się pierwszy album pod tytułem Clan Of Xymox. Nagrany został w znanym studio Palladium w Edynburgu, a przy produkcji współpracował sam szef 4AD, Ivo Watts-Russell. Była to bardzo klimatyczna płyta, pełna nieziemskich elektronicznych efektów, atmosferycznych wokali i dziwnych rytmów. Najbardziej znane,klasyczne kawałki z tej płyty, to "A Day", "Cry In the Wind" i "Stranger". Była to muzyka bliska stylistycznie ówczesnym gwiazdom 4AD: Cocteau Twins czy Dead Can Dance.

Album "Medusa", wydany w 1987 roku był dalszym krokiem w tym kierunku. Dynamiczne kawałki w bardzo mrocznym, gotycko-popowym stylu, zdecydowanie rockowe zadecydowały o sukcesie albumu. Wydany równocześnie singiel "A Million Things" mocno namieszał na niezależnej scenie. Ich utwory zapełniały parkiety w niezależnych klubach grających ambitniejszą muzykę do tańca. Zauważono ich także w Ameryce. "Medusa" powszechnie uważana jest za najlepszy album Clan Of Xymox. Niestety, w październiku 1998 zakończyła się ich współpraca z 4AD.
